2. Individual Competence Portfolio

Overview

The project addresses the following challenges, for which solutions are being developed adapted to the implementation partner’s ecosystem:

  1. Competences are often described and interpreted differently in education and in the labour market. This makes them hard to further develop. We aim to create a framework that fosters a shared understanding of competences.
  2. People acquire valuable competences throughout their lives in different contexts. However, many of these remain invisible. We explore how both formal and non-formal competences can be documented.
  3. Validation is essential to ensure the credibility of competence profiles. The project thus investigates how the reliability of documented competences can be guaranteed.
  4. Traditional CVs usually focus on education and career steps, failing to highlight competences that are most relevant for a specific industry or role. Our project looks at new ways for individuals to present themselves in a truly competence-oriented way.
